About the model: The 52.1591 steam locomotive is an Austrian Federal Railroad model, is from Era III to IV, and has a digital interface. A decoder can be added at any time. The locomotive is powered by 7 axles and 2 axles are equipped with traction tires. All other details about the model can be found under the features.
About the prototype: The locomotive factory in Vienna-Floridsdorf produced over 1,100 class 52 locomotives. After the end of the war, 113 locomotives remained in Austria. Improvements were made to many of the locomotives, for example some of the tub tenders were fitted with cabins so that a train driver's compartment was possible. At the end of the steam locomotive era, there were individual variations in the paintwork on some 52s, which were initiated by the staff. The Strasshof an der Nordbahn train depot had some of the "colorful" steam locomotives in its boiler house, which were not atypical for the time. The last examples were taken out of service in 1976 and were therefore among the last steam locomotives on the ÖBB's standard-gauge route network.
