Steam locomotive 50 3670 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn

Between 1959 and 1963, the Deutsche Reichsbahn of the former GDR modernized a total of 208 class 50 locomotives. As a result of these rebuilds, the locomotives now designated as class 50.35-37 differed significantly from the original version, particularly in the boiler/boiler equipment area. These locomotives, which now had a power output of 1,300 kW and a speed of 80 km/h, were used primarily on lowland lines (also in front of passenger trains). Occasionally, they also made their way to western Germany.
