Description

From 1977, the Deutsche Reichsbahn procured 270 series 250 (later BR 155) locomotives for heavy freight train service. Due to the lack of streamlined curves, which are negligible given the low maximum speed, it was nicknamed the "Strom-Container" or "brick". In 2017, Deutsche Bahn sold 100 locomotives to a consortium led by Railpool and Toshiba. Railpool gave the 155 138 a shiny silver livery to attract attention. Some of the locomotives approved for use in Germany and Austria were put up for sale.
