Description

The Deutsche Bahn diesel locomotive 218 433, for the first time with 16-BIT-SOUND for a perfect sound experience. This model also has switchable high beams and individually switchable headlights or marker lights. It is also equipped with prototypically low wheel flanges and an LED tail light at the outer headlight positions.

From 1971, the Deutsche Bundesbahn put 398 BR 218 series locomotives into service and used them in front of both passenger and freight trains. They are used on most non-electrified lines and reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h with an output of 1,840 kW. Locomotives are currently still in service at the Ulm, Kempten and Mühldorf am Inn depots.
