Description

Locomotive 50 849 was built in 1940 with the factory number 16058 by the Krauss-Maffei locomotive forge in Munich Allach. After 1945, it remained in the Soviet occupation zone and thus with the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Finally, after leaving scheduled service, the working group 3/75 "Eisenbahntradition" Zwickau, founded in 1979, took over the freight locomotive. They restored the dilapidated locomotive to its best optical and technical condition. In 1980, the 50 was transferred to the DR's traditional fleet. It was also used as a train locomotive for the wagon set known as the "Zwickauer Traditionszug" (Zwickau traditional train). To this day, the rolling and fully preserved museum locomotive has its home in the Glauchau locomotive shed and is lovingly looked after there.
