The 7100026 H0 steam locomotive Rh 354.1 of the Czechoslovakian State Railways (CSD) brings the pioneering performance of one of the first Pacific tender locomotives to your model railway layout in impressive detail. With its intricate design and numerous authentic details, this model is a highlight for fans of historic steam locomotives.
In 1912, the k.k. priv. Südbahn-Gesellschaft needed a new tender locomotive for its heavy passenger train service. The locomotive factory of the Staats-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft then developed the 629 series, the world's first tender locomotive with a 2'C1' (Pacific) axle arrangement. The first locomotive was delivered in 1913, and 14 more followed by 1915.
After the First World War, 15 of these locomotives were assigned to the newly founded CSD, where they were designated series 354.121 to 354.135. They remained in service for decades and proved their worth, particularly in passenger train service, thanks to their performance, reliability and technical innovation.
Era III (1945-1970) represents the heyday of steam operation in Europe. The 354.1 series locomotives were in service with the CSD during this period and were primarily used for heavy passenger train services. With their imposing design and technical sophistication, they became a symbol of the efficiency of Czechoslovakian railroads.
The model of the 354.1 series shows a large number of details true to the original, including the characteristic round chimney with brim for the first time. Free-standing lines, filigree metal buffers and the finest wheels with low wheel flanges underline the high quality and attention to detail of the model. The driving and coupling rods made of precision-cast metal are precisely manufactured and ensure an impressive appearance.
The model is designed for operation on direct current (DC) systems and has direction-dependent lighting with white LEDs. The NEM coupling shaft with close coupling kinematics allows easy connection to other wagons or locomotives. With a length over buffers (LüP) of 153 mm, this model is ideal for smaller layouts and tight radii from 360 mm.
The combination of metal parts such as the wheels, buffer sleeves and driving rods as well as precisely manufactured plastic elements makes this model particularly durable and stable. The prototypical paint scheme and printing give the locomotive an authentic appearance that makes it a real gem on any H0 layout.
The model is supplied with detailed operating instructions and is protected in high-quality packaging. This keeps it safe from damage and ensures that it can be enjoyed for a long time.
The wheels and moving parts should be cleaned regularly to maintain the functionality and visual splendor of the model. Moving parts such as drive rods and coupling rods can be lightly oiled if necessary. Store the model in a dust-free and dry room to protect the fine details and high-quality printing.
The 7100026 H0 Rh 354.1 steam locomotive is an exceptional model that impressively reflects the engineering skills of the early 1900s. With its detailed design and high-quality materials, it is a highlight for collectors and fans of historic steam locomotives. This model offers an authentic driving experience and is an excellent addition to any H0 model railroad layout that depicts steam operation in Era III.
