Description

Roco 7100033 H0 Steam locomotive Rh 477 - CSD tender locomotive with a classy look

The Roco 7100033 Rh 477 008 steam locomotive of the Czechoslovakian State Railways (CSD) is a highlight for all fans of Eastern European railroad history. This edition model presents itself as a completely new design of the striking express train tender locomotive of Era III - with unique attention to detail, technical sophistication and eye-catching color scheme. The design of the first series impresses with particularly intricate elements and many high-quality metal parts - a must-have for discerning model railroaders and collectors.

Technology & model architecture

Technically, the model is based on a well thought-out design: With four driven axles, one axle with traction tires and a flywheel, the locomotive offers powerful, smooth running characteristics. The electrical interface according to PluX22 enables digital retrofitting at the latest level. Visually, there is a clear view between the boiler and frame, particularly fine lines under the boiler and gracefully designed spoked wheels. The typical star on the smokebox door is free-standing - a striking detail for maximum faithfulness to the prototype.

Design with recognition value

The striking blue paintwork with white decorative elements is a real highlight - historically correct and visually impressive. Parts of the model are made of metal and ensure weight, stability and value. The driver's cab is lovingly designed in great detail, making the model special not only in operation but also as a showpiece.

The prototype: Last large steam locomotive series of the CSD

The class 477.0 was built in 60 units between 1951 and 1955 and was intended as a powerful express train tender locomotive with a 2'D2' axle arrangement for heavy passenger traffic. With an operating weight of 131 tons, it was one of the heaviest tender locomotives in Europe at the time. Its top speed of approx. 100 km/h and a starting tractive effort of almost 110 kN made it a powerful all-purpose machine in everyday operation. Its elegant design and eye-catching paintwork earned it the nickname "Papousek" (parrot).

Perfect for Eastern European scenarios and collectors

This model is aimed at model railroaders with a focus on Eastern European railroad landscapes of Era III as well as collectors of exclusive and rarely realized locomotives. Thanks to its technical features, high-quality appearance and historical relevance, it is a real eye-catcher both on the layout and in the display case.
