The outer and inner cylinders worked on different coupling axles, which ensured an even distribution of power. Between 1911 and 1914, a total of 152 locomotives were built - 135 for Prussia and 17 for Alsace-Lorraine. The locomotive was thus an integral part of the high-quality express train service in the German Empire.
