The Prussian P8 was one of the most successful steam locomotives in Europe. Over 3,700 units were built by 1923. After the First World War, Poland took over 192 machines from German stocks, which were later operated by the PKP as the Ok1 series. A total of 429 locomotives of this series were used by the PKP - they were considered the backbone of local passenger transport there for a long time and were in use until the 1970s.
