State-of-the-art technology & equipment

The locomotive is equipped with two powered axles and two traction tires and offers smooth running characteristics thanks to the flywheel mass. The 2 headlights with direction of travel change have been converted to modern LED technology. New features in the model include inset lamp lenses, a low-set circulation plate with wheel housings and the design with fine decorative lines, which give the locomotive a particularly elegant appearance. Spoked metal wheels round off the high-quality appearance.

The Prussian S 10.1 - efficiency meets performance

The S 10.1 was not a further development of the S 10, but an independent new design with a four-cylinder compound engine based on the De-Glehn design. The special arrangement of the cylinders - acting externally on the second and internally on the first coupling axle - enabled balanced power transmission. From 1911 to 1914, 135 machines were produced for Prussia and 17 for Alsace-Lorraine. The S 10.1 was larger, more powerful and, thanks to its technology, more economical than its predecessor - perfect for the high-quality express train service of the imperial era.
