The Roco 7180016 represents the heavy freight locomotive Ty4-40 of the Polish State Railways (PKP). With Wagner wind deflectors, fine printing and numerous separately applied parts, it is a detailed model of Era III-IV. The delicately printed white wheel tires in particular give the locomotive an elegant appearance.

Historical background

After the Second World War, numerous locomotives of the German class 44 remained in Poland. There they were designated Ty4 by the PKP and were given numbers from Ty4-1 to Ty4-132. These powerful freight locomotives were used on the main lines of the PKP and were still in service until the late 1970s.
