Are you looking for a special locomotive from the V160 family for your analog H0 layout? With the Roco 217 003, you can bring a real piece of German Federal Railroad history to your tracks - as a completely new model design with high prototypical fidelity and future-proof technology.
The class 217 was developed between 1965 and 1968 as an interim solution to be able to run heavy reversible trains with electric train heating on non-electrified lines. Only 15 locomotives were built - including the 217 003, a technical forerunner of the later BR 218. This rarity has now been realized by Roco as a high-quality new design.
All the structural features of the prototype have been correctly implemented in the model. Specially attached plug-in parts, some of which are etched, and fine engravings ensure an impressive appearance. The locomotive is also equipped with low wheel flanges - for maximum faithfulness to the prototype. Wheel sets with 1.2 mm high wheel flanges are available separately as replacements (item no. 145433, 145435).
The locomotive is designed for analogue DC operation, but can easily be digitized thanks to the PluX22 interface. This means that the class 217 can be retrofitted at any time - ideal for model railroaders who are planning to switch to digital technology. The direction-dependent head/tail light with LED is already integrated and also provides realistic operating optics in analog form.
The Roco 7300068 BR 217 003 is a high-quality conversion of a rare DB unique model - perfect for collectors, Bundesbahn enthusiasts and anyone who wants to combine analog technology with high model quality. Now available in the model railroad store - secure this highlight of Era IV!
