The Roco 7310006 H0 diesel locomotive BB 62405 of the French State Railways (SNCF) combines historical precision with the latest digital technology. With DC sound, switchable light functions and a realistic paint scheme in faded condition, this model is a highlight for any Era V model railroad layout.
The BB 62405 belongs to the class 2400, which was acquired by the Dutch State Railways (NS). The SNCF procured a total of 44 of these used diesel-electric locomotives, which were used for the construction of new high-speed lines. After being overhauled in the Tilburg workshop, they were given the number series 60000-70000 in France and were nicknamed "Hollandaises". The BB 62405 was in service in 1999 in a faded operating condition, often in double traction in order to haul heavy trains efficiently.
In Era V (1985-2007), the focus was on technical innovations and international cooperation. The BB 62405 represents this era in which used locomotives took on new tasks in a changed operating context.
The model is equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder that provides realistic operating sounds. Shunting lights and individually switchable headlights and taillights are available in digital operation, which ensures a high degree of prototypical fidelity. A buffer capacitor ensures uninterrupted operation, even on demanding routes.
The Roco 7310006 H0 diesel locomotive BB 62405 is ideal for model railroaders looking for authentic vehicles with modern digital technology. Its detailed reproduction and extensive functions make it an indispensable part of any era V layout.
