The 2016 series universal locomotives delivered to ÖBB between 2002 and 2004 are designed for use on main and branch lines. Thanks to their 2,000 kW output, reversible train capability and multiple traction, they can be used flexibly in passenger and freight transport. The series is nicknamed "Hercules" - a fitting title for its powerful appearance and universal application possibilities.

Sound experience and digital light functions

The integrated PluX22 sound decoder provides realistic operating sounds, including engine sound, signal horn and other functions. In digital mode, both the headlights/tail lights and the main beam can be switched separately. All lighting elements are equipped with long-life LED technology - for maximum fidelity to the original in model operation.

In addition to the technology, the locomotive impresses with its intricate detailing: attached grab rails, UIC cans, windshield wipers and enclosed exterior mirrors (can be displayed either folded in or folded out).
