With the Y8000, Roco is bringing one of the best-known French shunting locomotives to your layout as a model. The locomotive was built by Moyse from 1977 and was used by the SNCF in a wide variety of applications: from shunting yards to construction sites to line deliveries. Painted in striking orange with brown and white accents, it became a typical sight in French rail operations in eras V and VI.

Thanks to the die-cast zinc motor front end and gear block, the model has a high dead weight - this ensures optimum tractive power over short distances and in shunting operations.
