Are you looking for a powerful shunting locomotive with French flair and impressive equipment for your AC layout? Then the Roco Y8000 of the SNCF with digital sound, shunting coupling and detailed realization is a must for your H0 collection!
With the Y8000, Roco is bringing one of the best-known French shunting locomotives to your layout as a model. The locomotive was built by Moyse from 1977 and was used by the SNCF in a wide variety of applications: from shunting yards to construction sites to line deliveries. Painted in striking orange with brown and white accents, it became a typical sight in French rail operations in eras V and VI.
Thanks to the die-cast zinc motor front end and gear block, the model has a high dead weight - this ensures optimum tractive power over short distances and in shunting operations. Two axles are driven, one of which has traction tires. The built-in buffer capacitor ensures an uninterrupted power supply, even in difficult track conditions or switch routes.
With the digital shunting coupler, the wagon formation can be coupled and uncoupled realistically - a real highlight for busy layouts. The onboard sound decoder provides realistic background noises, while the prototypical lighting concept with head and tail lights depending on the direction of travel, driver's cab lighting and switchable additional functions provide atmosphere.
The model is designed for digital AC operation and can only be used to a limited extent with analog rolling stock. For full functionality, use in a digital system is recommended.
The locomotive has the typical SNCF look of Era V-VI with finely engraved details, free-standing grab irons and a clear view through the designed driver's cab. The livery is based on the color scheme of the BB 63500 - many locomotives wore this design throughout their entire career, sometimes supplemented by current SNCF logos or repainting for special areas such as Fret or Infra.
With the Roco Y8000 7320095, you are getting a model that perfectly combines technical skill and authentic prototype. Ideal for AC drivers with an eye for detail and who enjoy realistic shunting operations. Now available in the model railroad store - bring a piece of SNCF history to your layout!
