Description

PIKO H0e Diesel locomotive 2095 012 ÖBB, Era IV-V - Narrow gauge classic with character

The 2095 012 diesel locomotive of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) is an icon of Austrian narrow gauge operation. PIKO brings this charming prototype in H0e scale to the layout as a highly detailed model in Era IV-V - including factory-installed sound decoder and numerous digital functions. Painted in blood orange with ivory-colored belly band and umbra gray frame, the model reflects the condition after the repainting in the popular Valousek design of the 1990s.

Prototype history with Gmünd roots

The prototype of the 2095 series was presented by SGP in 1958 - a diesel-hydraulic locomotive with a 600 hp 12-cylinder engine that reached a top speed of 60 km/h. From its delivery, the 2095 012 was stationed at the Gmünd train haulage station and shaped passenger and freight traffic on the Waldviertelbahn for many years. As the only large diesel locomotive there, it was an indispensable part of daily operations.

Technology & digital functions

The model has four powered axles, two of which have traction tires. Thanks to the PluX22 digital interface, it can be controlled completely digitally. The factory-fitted sound decoder provides a realistic sound image - including engine noises, signal horn, shunting functions and more. In digital operation, the main beam and shunting lights as well as the cab lighting can also be switched separately.

Detailing & design

The PIKO model impresses with its free-standing handrails, fine lamp rings and an openwork ventilation grille on the roof. The precise paintwork in Valousek design has been implemented without decorative strips and is a real eye-catcher on any narrow-gauge layout. The length over buffers is 120 mm, the minimum radius is just 200 mm - ideal for compact H0e layouts.

Conclusion: Austrian narrow gauge history at its best

The ÖBB 2095 012 combines nostalgic flair, modern digital technology and the finest detailing - a must for all fans of the Austrian narrow gauge railroad. Now available at Modellbahnshop.de!
