Description

The M62 129 diesel locomotive of the Hungarian State Railroad (MAV) is a prototypical model for use with long trains. The finely detailed model is equipped with separately applied plug-in parts and offers a high level of operational reliability.

The MAV received the first type M62 diesel locomotive, manufactured in Lugansk, in 1965 and named this class "Szergej". A total of 288 further locomotives followed. As the M62 locomotives lacked a heating system, a separate heating carriage had to be carried on passenger trains. Due to the high maintenance costs and the high noise level, the M62 locomotives were later mainly used for heavy freight trains.
