The DR class 110 was developed from the 1960s as a versatile diesel locomotive for passenger and freight trains as well as shunting services. With an output of 1,000 hp and a top speed of 100 km/h, it was universally deployable - ideal for branch lines and main lines. The locomotive shown here was based at the Gera depot of the Erfurt station.
