Description

Roco 74223 H0 DRG Pwgs 41 freight train baggage wagon: Detailed Epoch II baggage wagon

The Roco 74223 H0 German State Railroad (DRG) freight train baggage car Pwgs 41 is a finely detailed model of a historical baggage car from Era II. With its prototypical roof pulpit, separately attached plug-in parts and the option of mounting the sliding doors in different positions, this model is an impressive collector's item.

The prototype: DRG Pwgs 41

The freight train baggage cars of the type Pwgs 41 were built by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the 1940s. They were based on the design principles of the passenger train baggage cars. The luggage wagons were designed for use in freight trains and fulfilled logistical tasks such as the transportation of luggage and freight consignments as well as providing workstations for the accompanying personnel.

With their robust construction and the striking roof pulpit, the Pwgs 41 were an indispensable part of the train sets in Era II.

The railroad company: Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRG)

The Deutsche Reichsbahn was Germany's national railroad company from 1937 to 1949. During this time, the DRG modernized its fleet and introduced innovative car concepts such as the Pwgs 41 in order to meet the requirements of the growing rail traffic.

Era II: Progress and standardization

Era II (1920-1949) was characterized by the standardization and further development of the railroad system in Germany. The Pwgs 41 reflects the progress of this period and shows how the Deutsche Reichsbahn developed functional and versatile vehicles.

Color scheme and design

The model is painted in the typical colors and lettering of the DRG. The roof pulpit, the steps on the luggage compartment doors and the finely detailed sliding doors, which can be fitted either closed, half-open or open, ensure an authentic appearance. With a length over buffers of 118 mm, the wagon is compact and versatile.

Recommended purchase for model railroaders

The Roco 74223 H0 Pwgs 41 freight train baggage wagon is an ideal model for anyone wishing to expand their Era II train sets. With its detailed workmanship and many design options, it fits seamlessly into historical freight trains.
