Roco 74810 H0 passenger car Bom 280, 2. Klasse, DB AG, Ep. V Product Details

Description

Roco 74810 H0 Passenger coach Bom 280 of the DB AG: Modern Halberstadt passenger coach of epoch V

The Roco 74810 H0 passenger coach Bom 280, 2nd class of Deutsche Bahn AG, is a detailed model of a "Halberstadt" passenger coach that was specially designed for use in Era V commuter services. With its striking paint scheme, high-quality details and the option of retrofitting interior lighting, this car offers a realistic driving experience on your model railroad layout.

The prototype: Halberstadt wagon

The "Halberstädter" passenger coaches were originally developed by the Deutsche Reichsbahn and later taken over by Deutsche Bahn AG. The Bom 280, a 2nd class coach, was adapted for regional services. Its simple but functional design makes it an indispensable component of DB Regio trains of Era V.

A striking feature of this model are the side walls without rain gutters, which are a variation on other Halberstadt coaches. The modified bogies of the Görlitz V design and the free-standing grab irons give the car additional authenticity.

The railroad company: Deutsche Bahn AG

In Era V, Deutsche Bahn AG modernized many of its vehicles, including the Halberstadt coaches. These coaches were painted in the characteristic DB Regio colors of mint turquoise, pastel turquoise and light grey and played a central role in regional transport in the 1990s.

Era V: Integration and progress

Era V (1990-2006) was characterized by the integration of the East and West German railroad systems and the modernization of rail transport. The Bom 280 is an example of the functional adaptations that were made during this period to meet the requirements of modern local transport.

Color scheme and design

The Bom 280 is painted in the typical DB Regio colors of mint turquoise, pastel turquoise and light grey. In contrast to other coaches in the Halberstadt series, this model has side walls without rain gutters, which gives it a unique appearance. The length over buffers is 303 mm, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated into regional train formations.

Recommended purchase for model railroaders

The Roco 74810 H0 Bom 280 passenger coach is an excellent addition to Era V train sets. It harmonizes perfectly with other Halberstadt coaches and locomotives such as the class 143. The option of retrofitting interior lighting makes it a versatile model for demanding model railway layouts.
