From test locomotive to a permanent fixture in the leasing pool

The 186 251 locomotive was originally part of a batch that was procured by Angel Trains but never accepted. After initial test runs from 2008, it was transferred to Railpool in 2011 - together with other locomotives that had previously been used as approval platforms. These locomotives played a key role in the introduction of cross-border services, particularly in the Netherlands.

Prototypical design with technical finesse

The model shows the locomotive with silver Railpool lettering, red UIC cans and authentic roof design with accurately reproduced insulators, pantographs and components. The lighting is LED, the headlights and marker lights can be controlled in digital mode using a DIP switch.

Ideal for international freight and charter traffic

In the prototype, the 186 251 was used for RTC, Lokomotion and BLS Cargo, among others. It can also be used flexibly in the model - with NEM 362 coupling shaft, close-coupling kinematics, flywheel mass and four driven axles (one with traction tires).
