The Roco 7500167 482 038-0 electric locomotive from Nordic Re-Finance (NRFAB) is a modern replica of a TRAXX F140 AC2 locomotive in Era VI. With fine detailing, robust drive and prototypical design, it is the perfect choice for model railroaders who want to authentically recreate Scandinavian freight traffic.

Prototype and use

Nordic Re-Finance took over several TRAXX F140 AC2 locomotives from SBB Cargo International. After extensive modernization and the installation of ETCS, they were approved for cross-border traffic in Sweden and Norway. Locomotive 482 038 is one of these machines and is currently being used by CFL Cargo for Scandinavian freight traffic. With a snow plow on the chassis and the technical adaptations, it is optimally equipped for the climatic conditions of Northern Europe.

Detailed model design

The model impresses with its prototypical implementation with snow plow on the chassis, neatly executed printing and finely crafted body details. The harmonious reproduction makes the locomotive a realistic eye-catcher on the layout and gives every freight train a modern appearance.

Technical features

The locomotive is driven by a powerful 5-pole motor with a flywheel, which ensures smooth and even running characteristics. Four axles are powered, one of which has traction tires for additional tractive power. The lighting consists of 3 headlights / 2 tail lights with LEDs depending on the direction of travel. The headlights and marker lights can be switched individually using a DIP switch. The PluX22 interface enables simple digitalization.

Use on the model railroad

With a length of 217 mm over buffers and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive can be used universally on H0 layouts. It is particularly suitable for heavy freight traffic in international use in Era VI and is an excellent addition to Scandinavian freight car formations.
