With the Roco 7500173 Re 436 113 electric locomotive, Roco is launching a form variant of the proven Re 4/4 III - in the modern look of the Swiss private railroad Crossrail. This locomotive stands for reliable freight train service in European transit and combines classic Swiss technology with today's logistics performance on the north-south axis.

Typical of a private railroad - new design variant with details

The locomotive has the new front with large, round private railroad headlights - a striking distinguishing feature of this series for non-SBB operators. The crest is missing on the front - also typical for use in freight traffic. The scope of delivery also includes a BLS Cargo logo as a decal, which can be applied as an option. The light functions (Swiss light change) can be configured via DIP switches. The model is also Z21 driver's cab compatible.

Technology for international freight traffic

With four powered axles, traction tires and an integrated flywheel, the locomotive offers excellent traction - ideal for heavy trains in the foothills of the Alps. The LED headlights provide a realistic representation of driving operation. Thanks to the PluX22 interface, the locomotive can be digitally retrofitted.

Crossrail - From regional traffic to alpine traction

Crossrail was introduced as a brand of Regionalverkehr Mittelland AG (RM) and developed into an independent freight transportation provider. Five Re 4/4 III locomotives, originally purchased from the Emmental-Burgdorf-Thun-Bahn (EBT), were taken over. These locomotives are designed for transalpine use over the Simplon, Lötschberg and Gotthard - equipped with ETCS for modern tunnel routes such as the Lötschberg Base Tunnel.
