The Roco 7500176 electric locomotive 189 905-3 is a detailed replica of the Rail Traction Company (RTC) in Era VI. With its striking red zebra stripes and the elaborate technical implementation, it brings modern, cross-border freight traffic in H0 to the model railroad. Thanks to LED lighting, numerous intricate add-on parts and prototypical roof design, it is a visual and technical highlight.
The Rail Traction Company (RTC), based in Bolzano, has been active in cross-border freight transportation for over 20 years. Together with its partner company Lokomotion, RTC operates several locomotives of the Siemens 189 series. These were taken over from the lessor MRCE and have an eye-catching zebra livery: red for RTC and blue for Lokomotion. The 189 905-3 is used for international freight traffic in Italy, Austria and Germany and impresses with its flexibility and reliability.
The model has an elaborately designed roof section with a newly designed contact strip on the pantograph for use in Italy. Many separately attached plug-in parts emphasize the high level of detail. The body is finely engraved and the striking red zebra paintwork makes the locomotive an eye-catcher on any layout.
The Roco 189 905-3 is equipped with a powerful 5-pole motor with flywheel, which ensures smooth running characteristics. Four axles are driven, one of which has traction tires for additional tractive power. The head/tail light changes depending on the direction of travel and is equipped with cool white LEDs. The light functions can be individually controlled via a DIP switch. Thanks to the PluX22 interface, the locomotive is ready for simple digitization.
With a length over buffers of 225 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive is suitable for use in international Era VI freight trains. It fits perfectly into modern layouts with cross-border traffic and is the ideal addition to freight cars for international traffic. The combination of faithfulness to the prototype, technical sophistication and striking design makes this model a highlight of any collection.
