The MRCE 189 993 is a particularly striking one-off in international freight traffic. As one of only three remaining locomotives in the historic yellow and silver Dispolok design from Siemens, it has been in service with SBB Cargo International since 2021. In north-south traffic from the Netherlands to Italy, it stands for cross-border performance - and now brings an extra portion of locomotive character to your layout in H0 scale.

Design & workmanship

The model impresses with a finely detailed realization of the legendary yellow/silver paint scheme of the former Siemens Dispolok. The current MRCE logo emphasizes the modern integration into the operating events of Era VI.

Technical features & special functions

The headlights and marker lights can be switched separately in digital mode. The 3 headlights / 2 marker lights system works depending on the direction of travel and is equipped with LEDs. The combination of a 5-pole motor, four powered axles and a traction tire ensures high tractive power and smooth operation.

Historical background

The class 189 (Siemens ES64F4) is a universal multi-system locomotive for freight traffic. Locomotive 189 993 was long owned by Siemens Dispolok and is now leased to SBB Cargo International by MRCE. With country packages for Slovenia and Romania, among others, it is equipped for wide European use - today mainly on the route between Holland and Italy.

Compatibility & expansion options

The model is suitable for all common 2-conductor DC systems. It fits perfectly in modern container or KLV trains and can be combined with other vehicles for international traffic. Thanks to the PluX22 interface, full digital controllability is possible.
