Roco 7510052 DR electric locomotive 180 004-4 - dual-system power for cross-border traffic

With the Roco 7510052 electric locomotive 180 004-4, Roco is bringing an ultra-modern model of Era IV to the H0 tracks. The dual-system locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn was developed for cross-border operation between the GDR and Czechoslovakia - equipped for direct and alternating current operation. This digitized DC model with sound is impressive due to its technical sophistication and detailed design.

A joint technical project - the origin story of the BR 180

In the 1980s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn decided to procure dual-system locomotives for smooth transportation to the ČSSR. The locomotives were built in cooperation between LEW Hennigsdorf (GDR) and Škoda (ČSSR) on the basis of the Czech ES 499.1 and 499.2 series. The 180 004-4 locomotive, formerly part of the 230 series, was specially designed for the combination of 15 kV AC voltage and 3 kV DC voltage.

Technically mature - with sound and LED lighting

The model has a built-in PluX22 digital decoder and is equipped with a high-quality sound module. The lighting changes depending on the direction of travel in red/white using LEDs. The flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics on all standard H0 layouts. Four axles are powered, one of which is equipped with traction tires.

Fine detailing with KK kinematics

The locomotive is finished in red DR livery and impresses with finely engraved body parts, detailed roof equipment and numerous attached details. With a 193 mm running length and a minimum radius of 358 mm, it is ideal for demanding model railroad operation. Coupling is via an NEM 362 shaft with close coupler link.
