The model reflects the originality of the universal electric locomotive series 1042, which offers a special aesthetic with its unique Valousek design. Be inspired by the perfection of this H0 locomotive!
The 1042 series of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) was developed from 1963 as a universal electric locomotive. With a total of 257 machines produced, it was one of ÖBB's most versatile series. From 1966, the locomotives were equipped with more powerful engines in order to reach a top speed of 150 km/h, which led to them being renamed the 1042.5 series. Thanks to the characteristic roof superstructures due to the installation of a resistance brake and the inverted single-arm pantographs, these locomotives were given their unmistakable appearance.
Locomotive 1042 643, which serves as the prototype for this model, was assembled at Simmering-Graz-Pauker (SGP) in Graz in 1975. The electrical part was supplied by ELIN and its service history began with its acceptance in January 1975, leading it in front of fast passenger and freight trains, including cross-border trains to Germany. In 1992, the locomotive was given a Valousek design, which is characterized by the continuous belly band on the front.
The Roco 7510139 model is characterized by numerous exclusive features. For the first time, the 1042 series is presented in the Valousek design with the striking continuous belly band on the front. Company signs on the locomotive body and an enclosed etched sign set emphasize the high level of detail. In digital operation, the model also has switchable headlights and marker lights to make operation on the layout even more realistic.
The 1042 643 in the Valousek design impresses with its striking color scheme, which reflects the typical appearance of Era V. The continuous belly band on the front gives the locomotive a special elegance, while the carefully reproduced inscriptions and signs ensure an authentic representation.
The Roco 7510139 impresses with its first-class workmanship and innovative technology. With a true-to-scale structure, digital control and high-quality sound module, the model is perfect for demanding model railway operation. Robust materials and precise manufacturing guarantee a long service life and outstanding operational reliability.
The model is manufactured in H0 scale (1:87) and designed for the 2-wire direct current system (DC). This makes the locomotive compatible with most common model railroad layouts. Its minimum radius of 360 mm enables smooth operation even on smaller layouts.
To keep the Roco 7510139 H0 electric locomotive 1042 592-4 in top condition, moving parts should be cleaned and lightly lubricated regularly. LED lighting elements are maintenance-free, but ensure permanent reliable illumination. Regular inspection of the pantographs and wheels is recommended to ensure long-term ride quality.
The Roco 7510139 H0 electric locomotive 1042 592-4 is a model that impresses with its attention to detail, technical features and historical significance. With digital sound, intricate details and an impressive color scheme, this locomotive will be a central highlight on your model railway layout. An indispensable model for lovers of Austrian railroad history and discerning model railroaders!
