Class 103 - Icon of the high-quality DB long-distance service

The class E 03 (later 103) was the backbone of the German Federal Railroad's express train service from the 1970s onwards. The 103 233-3 shown here is one of the last 30 series locomotives to be equipped with an extended driver's cab. Particularly striking: the exclusive traffic red paintwork with a brightly contrasting frame - a special version that was created on the initiative of railroad fans and supported by ROCO as a sponsor. The dedication text under the right-hand driver's cab window is of course also present in the model.
