The Roco 7510158 electric locomotive 112 101-1 shows the current version of the class 112.1 in the oriental red livery of Deutsche Bahn AG. This model impresses with its highly detailed reproduction with finely etched, perforated front tread plates as well as its extensive digital equipment with sound and light functions. This makes the locomotive the highlight of any modern Era VI layout.

Prototype: The class 112.1

From 1992, the locomotives of the class 112.1 were procured jointly by DB and DR as an improved version of the class 112.0. With an output of 4,000 kW and a maximum speed of 160 km/h, they are still in service today. Characteristic are the smaller combined halogen lamps, which were installed instead of the originally larger head and tail lights. These locomotives are used throughout Germany in intercity, regional express and special passenger train services.

Model with full digital scope

The model is equipped with a PluX22 digital decoder and offers numerous functions: switchable head/tail light, shunting light, driver's cab lighting and a digitally controllable train destination display. The integrated sound decoder provides an authentic sound image with realistic driving and operating noises.

Technology and equipment

A powerful 5-pole motor with flywheel mass ensures reliable running characteristics. Four powered axles, one of which has traction tires, ensure the necessary tractive power. The LED headlights change depending on the direction of travel and can be switched separately, as can the additional light functions. Coupler pockets in accordance with NEM 362 with close coupler kinematics guarantee safe operation in a train set.

Ideal for modern Era VI trains

With a length over buffers of 192 mm, the locomotive is suitable for use in front of intercity and regional express trains. It is an excellent match for modern DB AG passenger coaches and adds a powerful, digitally equipped model to any Era VI collection.
