The Roco 7510159 brings the BLS Re 4/4 172 in its final operating state to your H0 layout as a fully digitized sound version. With switchable high beam, LED headlights/tail lights, multicolored reproduction of the engine room, the "Eggerberg" coat of arms and characteristic scissor pantograph, this model is an impressive piece of Swiss railroad history.
Originally operated as the Ae 4/4 II, the Re 4/4 172 was procured in the 1960s as a more modern locomotive for mixed traffic on the BLS network and adjacent lines following technical improvements. The decision to use silicon rectifiers and shaft current motors made the locomotives more future-proof than the SBB Re 4/4 II locomotives purchased at the same time.
This model reflects the late operating condition - with a short buffer beam, fine wheelsets with low wheel flanges and a lovingly designed engine room. The engraved decorative line and the finely applied "Eggerberg" coat of arms emphasize the high quality of detail. In digital operation, the high beam and the headlights/tail lights can be switched separately.
The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder that reproduces authentic operating sounds - from the clicking of the contactors to braking and the characteristic running noise. Four axles are powered, one with traction tires. A flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics. Thanks to the NEM 362 coupling shaft and close coupling kinematics, the locomotive can be safely combined for operation.
The Roco 7510159 Re 4/4 172 with sound is a highlight for all fans of BLS, Era VI and historically accurate model technology. Now available in the model railroad store!
