Description

Roco 7510167 H0 Electric locomotive 482 038-0, NRFAB, Ep. VI, DC sound

The Roco 7510167 482 038-0 electric locomotive from Nordic Re-Finance (NRFAB) is a modern model of the TRAXX F140 AC2 series in Era VI. With a sound decoder, digitally switchable light functions and an authentic reproduction, this locomotive brings Scandinavian freight traffic in H0 realistically to the model railroad.

Prototype and use

Nordic Re-Finance took over four TRAXX F140 AC2 locomotives from SBB Cargo International. After modernization and adaptation, they were approved for use in Sweden and Norway under ETCS. Locomotive 482 038 was sent to Sweden and is currently being used by CFL Cargo. With its snow plow on the chassis and its robust technology, it is ideally suited for Scandinavian freight traffic.

Detailed model design

The model is equipped with a snow plough on the chassis, which makes it immediately recognizable as a Scandinavian variant. Finely detailed engravings, precise printing and filigree add-on parts ensure an authentic look. With a length of 217 mm over buffers and the typical TRAXX shapes, the locomotive is a highlight in any modern model railway collection.

Digital equipment with sound

The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 digital decoder and has extensive sound functions that make operation acoustically realistic. In digital operation, the main beam as well as the headlights and marker lights can be switched separately. The headlights change depending on the direction of travel and are equipped with LED technology, making them particularly bright and energy-saving.

Technical features

Four axles are driven, one of them with traction tires, which ensures high tractive force. A powerful 5-pole motor with flywheel mass ensures smooth driving characteristics even at low speeds. With a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive can be used flexibly on H0 layouts. The NEM 362 coupler pocket with close coupling kinematics ensures safe operation in a train set.

Use on the model railroad

With its area of use in Sweden and Norway, the locomotive fits perfectly into international Era VI freight trains. In combination with modern freight cars, the result is a realistic train appearance that brings Scandinavian rail traffic to life on the layout.
