The Roco 7510168 BB 26005 electric locomotive of the SNCF is a detailed model of Era VI and appears in the exclusive "Trains Spéciaux" design. The BB 26005 belongs to the well-known SNCF "Sybic" family, which has been in service since the 1980s. The "Trains Spéciaux" service from SNCF Voyageurs enables trains to be partially or fully reserved for group travel or special trips. To identify these special trains, selected Sybic locomotives have been repainted in a new colour scheme that harmonizes perfectly with the luxurious sleeping cars of the Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express. The locomotive thus combines modern technology with exclusive elegance in international service.
The model impresses with fine etched parts on the roof and a filigree realization of the two different pantographs. The detailed printing and the eye-catching "Trains Spéciaux" design make the locomotive a real eye-catcher. With a length over buffers of 204 mm, it fits perfectly with intercity, night and special train compositions.
The locomotive is equipped with a powerful 5-pole motor with flywheel, which guarantees smooth running characteristics. Four axles are driven, one of them with traction tires for better tractive power. The model has a PluX22 digital decoder with sound function that reproduces realistic operating sounds. The LED lighting provides headlights and marker lights depending on the direction of travel. In digital operation, additional light functions based on the French model and the cab lighting can be switched separately.
