The Roco 7510176 electric locomotive 189 905-3 is a highly detailed replica of the Rail Traction Company (RTC) from Era VI. With its eye-catching red zebra design, fine detailing and extensive digital technology with sound, it is a highlight for all model railroaders who want to realistically depict modern, international freight traffic.

Prototype and use

The Rail Traction Company, based in Bolzano, has been active in cross-border freight transportation for over 20 years. Together with Lokomotion, the company operates five locomotives of the Siemens 189 series, which were taken over from the locomotive rental company MRCE. While the RTC locomotives are fitted with red zebra stripes, the Lokomotion locomotives have blue zebra stripes. These locomotives are used for international freight traffic between Italy, Austria and Germany and stand for flexibility and reliability.

Exclusive model design

The model of the 189 905-3 has an elaborately designed roof section with a newly designed contact strip on the pantograph for use in Italy. Many separately attached plug-in parts and filigree engravings underline the high degree of faithfulness to the original. The striking RTC zebra paintwork in red makes the model a real eye-catcher on the layout.

Technology and digital equipment

The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 digital decoder and has extensive sound functions that enable a realistic driving experience. The headlights and marker lights depend on the direction of travel, are implemented with cool white LEDs and can be switched in digital operation. A flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics. Four axles are powered, one of which has traction tires for additional tractive power.

For international model railroad operation

With a length over buffers of 225 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive is ideal for use in modern freight trains. It is the perfect addition for layouts with a focus on cross-border traffic in Era VI.
