Skoda works type 43E - powerhouse of the ČSD

With increasing demand for powerful freight locomotives, Skoda developed the E 469.1 series (type 43E) in the 1960s, based on the design of the E 499.1. The machines were designed for the 3 kV direct current network in the north and east of Czechoslovakia. The 85 units built achieved a continuous output of 2,032 kW and a maximum speed of 90 km/h - ideal for heavy freight trains.

Detailed model with versatile digital technology

The Roco model impresses with a wealth of details: fine spoked wheels, metal wheelsets with low wheel flanges, delicate bogies and pantographs with innovative mounting. The locomotive has the typical small orange front stripe, locomotive signs are included as etched parts for self-assembly.

In digital mode, the headlights/tail lights, cab lighting, engine room lighting and running gear lighting can be switched individually. The high-quality PluX22 sound decoder provides authentic operating sounds and is supported by a buffer capacitor.

Powerful model for digital layouts

Four axles are driven, one is fitted with traction tires. The locomotive has a flywheel mass for smooth running and is equipped with NEM 362 couplers and close coupling kinematics. The model is suitable for radii from 358 mm and fits perfectly into historical freight train compositions of Era IV.
