Are you looking for a modern freight locomotive with international history and technical sophistication? Then the Roco 1616 from DB Cargo Nederland is exactly the right model for your Era VI layout! This DC version combines a striking design with digital functions and excellent detailing.
The merger of Dutch freight transport with the Railion Group gave DB AG access to several locomotives of the NS 1600 series. Locomotive 1616 was painted traffic red in 2012 and was in service under DB Cargo Nederland until 2020. It bore its christened name "Oldenzaal" just as proudly as the individual farewell texts that were affixed by engine drivers at the end of operation.
The Roco version shows the 1616 without air conditioning, with finely engraved pantographs in innovative mounting and many separately attached plug-in parts - some of them using filigree etching technology. This makes the model a real eye-catcher on your layout.
In DC digital mode, the model offers numerous functions: Sound, switchable headlights and marker lights as well as cab lighting. A powerful drive with four powered axles (one with traction tires) and flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics - ideal for realistic operation even with heavy freight trains.
With a length of 201 mm, NEM 362 shaft and close coupler link, the locomotive can be easily integrated into current train sets. Perfectly suited for international freight traffic on modern H0 layouts.
The Roco 7510197 electric locomotive 1616 is a convincing combination of prototypical features, technical equipment and authentic design. Now available in the model railroad store - get this powerful model for your collection!
