"Hercules" in long-distance transport - the success story of the 1116 series

The 1116 series - also known as the Taurus - is a powerful universal ÖBB locomotive, 282 of which were put into service by 2006. It is approved for a speed of 230 km/h and has been in regular use on Railjet services since 2008. Locomotive 1116 238 received its Railjet equipment in May 2011 and has been a regular feature of these modern long-distance trains ever since.

Digital sound and extensive lighting functions

The model has a PluX22 sound decoder of type MS450P22, which reproduces authentic driving sounds, announcements and signals. In digital mode, the main beam and the headlights/tail lights can be switched separately depending on the direction of travel - all implemented with modern LED technology. The model has up-to-date pictograms on the buffer beam - a detail for maximum faithfulness to the prototype.

Model technology for sophisticated layouts

Four axles are powered, one of which has traction tires. An integrated flywheel ensures smooth running characteristics. The locomotive has a PluX22 interface and is suitable for radii from 358 mm. Thanks to the NEM 362 coupling shaft with close coupling kinematics and the included coupling adapter, it is ideally prepared for use with Railjet cars or other types of trains.
