Are you looking for a classic railcar for your analog H0 layout in Era III? With the Roco 5042.10 ÖBB diesel railcar, you can get a real piece of Austrian railroad history on the track - finely detailed, prototypical and future-proof thanks to the digital interface.
The VT 42 series railcars, known as the 5042 series from the 1950s onwards, were used for decades on ÖBB's non-electrified lines. With two 210 hp engines and a top speed of 110 km/h, they were used on the Western Railway and later in Carinthia and Styria.
The model represents the 5042.10 variant with a modified roof shape and gray frame. It has numerous separately attached components - some of which are made of metal - as well as a fully designed interior. The head/tail light and the interior lighting can be switched via DIP switches - ideal for analog driving operations with light control.
The railcar is designed for analogue DC operation, but can be easily digitized via the existing PluX22 interface - for anyone who wants to switch sound or light functions digitally at a later date. Two powered axles (one with traction tires), flywheel mass and stable running characteristics make the model a reliable companion in daily operation.
The Roco 7700011 5042.10 diesel railcar is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to represent classic Austrian local transport on their layout - with a high degree of prototypical fidelity and the option of digital upgrading. Now available in the model railroad store!
