With the Tillig 01138 TT 3-Car Set of Self-Unloading Cars OOt Saarbrücken from the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft, you get three classically designed cars for bulk freight transport from Era II. The models are ideal for realistic train formations from the 1920s to the 1940s and bring the typical freight traffic of the Reichsbahn era directly to your 1:120 scale model railway layout.
The OOt cars of the Saarbrücken type were typical self-unloading cars for the transport of coal, ore, coke, or limestone. They were used in large numbers and were a common sight on main and branch lines during Era II. Their compact design made them particularly versatile in operation—both in block trains and in transfer traffic.
The three-piece set features finely detailed models with authentic DRG lettering, riveted construction, and realistic coloring in a muted brown. The bulk cargo flaps, reinforcements, and side walls are precisely reproduced. This results in harmonious train formations that fit perfectly into Era II freight traffic.
The cars are designed for TT scale (1:120) and run on a 12 mm gauge. The total length over the buffers is 253 mm for all three cars combined. Equipped with NEM-standard coupler mounts and close-coupling kinematics, these models are a valuable addition to your layout, both visually and operationally.
When paired with steam locomotives such as the BR 55, BR 56, or BR 75, these self-unloading cars look particularly authentic. They also offer numerous operational and design possibilities when used alongside Era I cars—from mine sidings to industrial traffic.
