With the Tillig 01139 TT 3-Car Set of OOt Saarbrücken Self-Unloading Cars from the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft, you can add three authentic bulk freight cars to your collection of historic freight cars. These cars are representative of bulk freight transport from the 1920s to the 1940s—ideal for realistic train formations in 1:120 scale.
The OOt Saarbrücken-type cars were standardized self-unloading cars used in the early freight operations of the DRG for transporting coal, coke, ore, and other bulk goods. With their compact design and robust construction, they were in service on many routes throughout the German Reich—both in block trains and in local transfer traffic.
The set includes three finely detailed cars with riveted side walls, accurately rendered discharge hatches, and cleanly printed DRG lettering from Era II. The subdued color scheme and harmonious design make the cars look absolutely convincing both in a train formation and when operated individually.
The cars are designed for TT gauge (1:120 scale) and run on a 12 mm track gauge. With a total length over the buffers of 253 mm (for all three cars), the set can be used on both small layouts and large-scale Era II dioramas. Thanks to the NEM shaft and close-coupling mechanism, optimal running characteristics and prototypical coupling distances are guaranteed.
This set is ideal for train sets with BR 55, BR 75, or early standard-gauge steam locomotives. Authentic scenes of everyday railway life from that era can also be created in combination with freight cars from the transition period between Era I and II.
