Tillig 12014 TT Passenger Car, 1st/2nd/3rd Class ABC4ü, DRG, Era II Product Details

Description

A versatile DRG three-class passenger car for your Era II layout

The Tillig 12014 TT ABC4ü passenger car from the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft is a particularly interesting example of the standardized car series and a 2026 novelty. With its layout featuring 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class, this car reflects the mix of comfort and social classes found in Reichsbahn passenger trains of the interwar period. A true asset for all model railroaders with a passion for historical train sets from Era II.

Model Information & Technical Specifications

Manufactured in 1:120 scale for TT gauge, the car measures 165 mm over buffers and features a detailed interior. Interior lighting can be retrofitted—we recommend item number 08921. To ensure a reliable connection, the car is equipped with a NEM-compliant coupler mount and close-coupling kinematics.

Technology & Features

The standardized coupling mechanism allows for trouble-free use in existing train formations. The retrofittable interior lighting enables atmospheric evening and nighttime operation scenes, while the interior furnishings remain visible through the window panels, lending additional authenticity.

Appearance & Historical Design

The ABC4ü is distinguished by a classic DRG paint scheme with exquisite lettering and authentic class symbols. The three-class layout was typical of long-distance passenger trains of the 1920s and early 1930s. The harmonious combination of comfort and mass transit is reflected in the car’s elegant appearance.

Prototype: ABC4ü – three-class car for a mixed passenger mix

Cars with mixed class configurations, such as the ABC4ü, were primarily used by the DRG on long-distance and express train routes to accommodate different travel classes. Especially in the early days of the standardized vehicle types, this division was a sign of versatility and efficiency in the Reichsbahn’s rolling stock.

For model railroading enthusiasts who value historical diversity and prototypical trains

The Tillig 12014 is the ideal addition to high-quality passenger train sets from Era II. When combined with locomotives from the standardized series or other DRG cars, it creates a harmonious and historically accurate model train set that should be a part of any layout with a historical focus.
