Tillig 13568 TT control car 2. Klasse Bpmbdzf 297.3, DB AG, Ep. V Product Details

Description

A modern Intercity control car for realistic DB long-distance trains from Era V

The Tillig 13568 TT Bpmbdzf 297.3 control car from Deutsche Bahn AG is an exact replica of a typical long-distance control car from the era of railway reform. This 2026 release allows you to build realistic IC reversible trains from the 1990s and 2000s on your TT layout—including retrofittable interior lighting and a NEM651 digital interface.

Model Information & Technical Data

The car is manufactured in 1:120 scale for TT gauge and measures 220 mm over the buffers. An interior is already integrated. The retrofittable interior lighting (accessory item 08858) allows for individual customization. Additionally, the model features a NEM651 electrical interface with a plug-in connector for easy digitalization.

Technology & Features

For realistic operating characteristics, the car is equipped with a NEM-compliant coupler mount and close-coupling kinematics. The direction-dependent lighting with a 3-light front signal and a 2-light rear signal ensures a realistic representation in reverse-running train operation.

Appearance & Authenticity

The authentic paint scheme in the DB AG Intercity design corresponds to the appearance of Era V. The Bpmbdzf 297.3 control car was a regular feature of many Intercity trains hauled by BR 101 or BR 120 locomotives. The model accurately reproduces the body shape and window arrangement.

Prototype: Bpmbdzf 297.3 – Control car for Intercity reversible trains

These control cars were converted in the 1990s for use in reversible train operations on high-quality long-distance routes. They allow for a change in direction without moving the locomotive and were used throughout Germany. They were particularly common on electrified main lines in combination with IC cars of the UIC-X or UIC-Z types.

For model railroading enthusiasts who demand prototypical accuracy and modern train concepts

With the Tillig 13568 control car, you can expand your TT layout with a high-quality vehicle from everyday long-distance service in Era V. Perfect for realistic Intercity trains in digital operation—with many expansion options.
