The Tillig 16418 TT Type Y/B 70 couchette car of the Hungarian State Railroad MAV brings the flair of international night trains of Era IV to your model railroad layout. As a typical representative of the Eastern European sleeping and couchette car fleet, this car was used on many routes through Central Europe - ideal for detailed passenger trains on a scale of 1:120.
The car impresses with its striking MAV color scheme and exact lettering in accordance with international standards for Era IV. The interior design has been carefully implemented and - together with the retrofittable interior lighting - allows impressive views even at night. Train end lighting can also be retrofitted for more operational realism.
The car has coupler pockets and close coupling kinematics and can be easily integrated into train formations. The running characteristics are optimized for demanding TT layouts - operational safety is guaranteed even with longer long-distance train compositions.
In Era IV, international rail traffic grew considerably. The type Y/B 70 couchette coach was part of a Europe-wide vehicle pool for night trains and was also used on connections between Hungary, the GDR, the FRG and Austria. These carriages formed the backbone of comfortable long-distance transport in socialist and non-socialist countries.
Can be combined with other international passenger coaches from the MAV, DR, ÖBB or ČSD as well as locomotives such as the BR 120, BR 132 or V 180. Ideal for trains on international night and express services in the 1970s and 80s.
