With the Tillig 16627, the manufacturer presents a highly detailed model of a Deutsche Reichsbahn Bghw passenger car in the classic green color scheme. This second-class car from Era IV is typical of passenger rail service in the GDR and adds a prototypical vehicle to any TT layout, representing local and regional service from the 1970s and 1980s.
The model features a faithful paint scheme and fine printing, showcasing a high level of detail. The fully equipped interior can be further enhanced with an optional retrofittable interior lighting system—ideal for atmospheric evening or nighttime runs on the model railroad.
Equipped with a NEM-standard coupler housing and close-coupling kinematics, the car guarantees safe operation and realistic car-to-car transitions. The car operates on a DC system with a track gauge of 12 mm. With a length over the buffers of 155 mm, the car fits perfectly into any TT train set from Era IV.
Bghw cars were in widespread use on both main and branch lines of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Their robust construction and simple design made them a reliable backbone of passenger service—the model authentically reflects this character and is ideal for layout designs that simulate real-world operations.
The Tillig 16627 offers the perfect combination of prototypical appearance, robust technology, and meticulous detailing. Whether as a single car or part of a complete train—this car enriches any TT layout with a piece of GDR railway history.
