With the Tillig 16740 TT Type Y sleeping car of the Hungarian state railroad MAV, you can rely on authentic long-distance travel on a scale of 1:120. This Era IV sleeping car with mixed 1st/2nd class division was used on many international routes between Eastern and Western Europe - a classic of cross-border rail traffic in the 1970s and 80s.
The coach impresses with its typical MAV Era IV paintwork and the finest printing in accordance with UIC standards. The interior has been realistically recreated and - in conjunction with the retrofittable interior lighting - allows impressive night train scenes. The model impresses with its high level of detail and quality of workmanship.
Equipped with a coupler pocket and close coupler kinematics, the car can be easily integrated into classic Era IV long-distance trains. The running characteristics are ideal for smooth operation on sophisticated TT layouts with realistic radii and gradients.
In Era IV, sleeping cars were an indispensable part of international long-distance transportation - especially on overnight connections between the GDR, the FRG, Austria and Hungary. The MAV used modern type Y vehicles, which offered a high level of comfort and international use. The sleeping car with 1st/2nd class was intended for longer routes and passengers with higher demands.
The car can be ideally combined with MAV, DR, ČSD or ÖBB passenger coaches as well as locomotives such as the BR 132, BR 120 or V 200. It looks particularly realistic in international night trains of the 1970s and 80s in combination with couchette or luggage coaches.
