Are you looking for an exceptional freight car with historical background and modern-day relevance? The Tillig 77095 H0 Gbkkqs 116.0 from Česká Pošta brings a piece of postal and rail logistics from Era VI to your model railroad layout. As the successor to classic freight car series, this model combines modern technology with the distinctive character of rail mail—a real highlight for anyone looking for something special.
The original Gbgkks 112.0 series was developed in the 1980s for transporting general cargo and bulk grain. The striking roof hatches and the walkway defined its characteristic appearance. In 1986–87, this design was adapted to create the Gbkkqs 115.3 series—express freight cars equipped with heating lines, suitable for use in passenger trains.
This eventually led to the development of the Gbkkqs 116.0 rail mail car, as reproduced by Tillig in this model. The grain-loading equipment was removed, and the car was instead outfitted for use in mail and express freight service—today in service with Česká Pošta and thus a true link between rail and modern logistics.
With a length of 160 mm over buffers, the car is compact yet striking on the layout. The design, featuring the colors and lettering of Česká Pošta, reflects its current use in the rail mail service—a rare and fascinating glimpse into a little-noticed niche in modern rail transport.
Thanks to its NEM-compliant coupler mount and close-coupling kinematics, the car can be easily integrated into mixed freight trains, rail mail trains, or even modern passenger trains. Its Epoch VI classification makes it particularly suitable for layouts with a contemporary operating concept or an Eastern European focus.
Whether as a solo car in a switching yard, as part of an international train, or in combination with passenger cars—the Gbkkqs 116.0 is a real eye-catcher and brings an extraordinary piece of railroad history to your H0 tracks. This model is also ideal for dioramas featuring mail loading stations or small stations handling express freight.
The Tillig 77095 impresses not only with its exceptional appearance but also with its technical reliability and high level of detail. Model railroaders interested in Eastern European rail networks, mail service, or special vehicle variants will find an exclusive and historically significant model here—a true hidden gem among covered freight cars.
