About the prototype: The ICE is probably one of the most iconic trains in Germany. The 4th generation has been in regular service on long-distance passenger services since 2017. In general, ICEs have been in service since 1991 and are an indispensable means of transportation for Deutsche Bahn AG and its passengers. The ICE 4 usually consists of 7 or 12 units, but in February 2021 a 13-car train set off on its journey for the first time.

About the model: Trix is dedicating a very detailed and feature-rich model to this striking train in the form of this 5-piece set, as well as the 3-piece 23971 supplement car set and the single 23972 center car. The basic set consists of a first and second class end car, a first class RW "Bordrestaurant" dining car, and a center car and a second class service car. The model has the train set number 9010 as ICE 786, for the train route Munich Hbf - Würzburg Hbf - Fulda - Hamburg-Altona.

The set has an impressive range of functions and is extremely realistic. The lighting functions include the interior lighting, which has various lighting scenarios and color schemes. The end cars also have cab lighting that adapts to the direction of travel and a three-light headlight that changes depending on the direction of travel, as well as two red marker lights. The lighting functions are implemented with maintenance-free LEDs, which produce a pleasant light in addition to being easy to use. The two pantographs, which are located on the service car, can be raised and lowered individually and digitally. In addition, the pre-installed digital decoder ensures that a wide variety of sound functions can be called up.
