The Trix 23626 C4ü Express Train Car complements the prototypical train set of the D 74 Hamburg Altona–Basel SBB, as it operated on the Frankfurt–Basel route in 1955. This standard-design car from 1928–30 represents a 3rd-class car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn and pairs perfectly with the BR 01.10 steam locomotive featuring a new-style boiler, as well as sets 23623 and 23651.
The car is built to exact scale and features numerous authentic details. It is equipped with new close-coupling heads, ensuring a realistic buffer height and optimal kinematics within the train set. An included short bellows allows for the representation of the train’s rear end.
A warm-white LED interior lighting system is installed as standard and is protected against power interruptions by an integrated buffer capacitor. A printed car identification plate and a serial number underscore the high level of detail. With a minimum curve radius of 360 mm, the car is suitable for all standard H0 layouts.
An enclosed fold-out sheet shows the complete D 74 train formation, including the position of this car—ideal for accurately recreating the historic express train. When combined with the matching expansion sets, it creates a harmonious train set from Era III.
