Description

Trix 25100 Electric Locomotive Double Pack Re 421, Ep. VI: Two Impressive Electric Locomotives for Your H0 Layout

The Trix 25100 double set of electric locomotives includes two Re 421 class locomotives in different and especially striking paint schemes. These models, which were used in Era VI, bring the best of Swiss railroad technology to your H0 model railroad layout. Each of the two locomotives is equipped with a modern digital decoder and offers extensive light and sound functions for a realistic operating experience. With this double pack, you can bring a highlight to your layout that will impress you with its attention to detail and extensive functions.

The prototype: Re 421 in TEE and Rheingold livery

The two Re 421 electric locomotives in this set belong to the private railroad of International Rolling Stock Investment GmbH (IRSI) and were operated by TR Trains Rail AG. One of the locomotives has the classic TEE paint scheme in purple/beige and has the road number 421 393-0. The second locomotive has the elegant Rheingold paint scheme in cobalt blue/beige and has the road number 421 387-2. Both locomotives represent the operating condition around 2020 and are examples of the variety of paint schemes that are still used in modern railroad operations.

Technical details of the Trix Re 421 models

Both locomotives in the Trix 25100 two-pack are equipped with controlled high-efficiency propulsion, which is supported by a flywheel and ensures smooth running characteristics. Four axles are driven by cardan shafts, which provides strong tractive effort. Each locomotive has traction tires that provide additional grip and ensure stable operation even with heavy trains. The length over buffers is 17.1 cm.

The locomotives are equipped with a digital decoder that makes it possible to control a variety of light and sound functions. The Swiss light change provides a realistic operating experience, with the triple headlights and the white marker lights changing automatically with the direction of travel. For solo runs, the lighting can be switched to a red marker light, while the headlights on the sides of the locomotive can be switched off separately in digital mode. Additional functions such as main headlights, cab lighting and engine room lighting can also be switched separately to provide an even more authentic experience.

High quality details and workmanship

The Trix Re 421 models have excellent attention to detail. The metal grab irons on the sides and front give the locomotives not only a realistic appearance, but also additional stability. Both locomotives are individually packaged and are supplied with additional outer packaging. The couplings can be exchanged for the enclosed front aprons, which gives the model an even more authentic appearance when running solo.

Conclusion: Two impressive locomotives for demanding model railroaders

The Trix 25100 Re 421 electric locomotive double pack offers model railroaders two highly detailed and technically advanced locomotives that are a highlight on any H0 layout due to their special paint scheme and extensive functions. With their modern digital decoders, extensive light and sound functions and detailed workmanship, these locomotives are an enrichment for every model railroad operation.
