The Trix 25186 is an accurately reproduced class 181.2 electric locomotive in the design of SEL (Schienenverkehrsgesellschaft mbH), painted and lettered for Era VI. The model has the christened name "GÖPPINGEN" and has many intricate details and the latest digital technology. The design is based on a form variant for the correct representation of the Era VI version and is aimed at demanding model railroaders who place particular value on prototype fidelity and functionality.
The locomotive has a high-quality metal construction with many separately applied components. These include imitation wheels, grab irons, windshield wipers, UIC sockets and finely designed roof lines. The pantographs can be raised and lowered digitally and are equipped with different contact strips to match the prototype - a feature that raises the detailing of the model to a particularly high level.
Inside, a controlled high-performance drive with centrally installed flywheel mass ensures reliable operation. All four axles are driven by cardan shafts and traction tires ensure optimum traction. An integrated buffer storage unit enables short powerless sections of the layout to be bridged, thus significantly increasing operational reliability.
A special highlight is the digital decoder with extensive light and sound functions. The locomotive is DCC-, mfx- and RailCom-compatible and therefore offers maximum compatibility in digital model railroad operation. The triple headlights that change over with the direction of travel and two red marker lights can be operated conventionally or digitally. The headlights can be deactivated separately digitally on locomotive sides 1 and 2. The locomotive also has a double A light function, cab lighting with direction of travel change and digitally switchable engine room lighting - all implemented with maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs.
With a length over buffers of 20.5 cm, the model fits in perfectly with modern H0 layouts. The locomotive is equipped with kinematic close couplers and has a buffer height according to the NEM standard, which ensures optimum compatibility with other vehicles. Brake lines, screw couplings and various sockets are included as separately attachable parts and round off the equipment.
This model is an ideal choice for model railroaders who are looking for a modern and reliable electric locomotive that is both visually and technically impressive. The name "GÖPPINGEN", the precise realization of all prototype features and the top digital equipment make the BR 181.2 from Trix a real highlight on any Era VI layout.
