The Trix 25323 class 18 323 steam locomotive represents one of the most beautiful and most powerful express train steam locomotives of the German Federal Railroad in Era III. This model is impressive with its finely detailed construction and detailed reproduction of the former Baden IVh, which was used as an experimental locomotive at the Federal Railroad Experimental Office in Minden. The prototype of this locomotive, with its 2'2 T29.6 coal tender, is an icon of German railroad history. The combination of technical sophistication and historical accuracy makes this model a real highlight of any model railroad collection.
The black and red basic color scheme of the locomotive is particularly striking and is further emphasized by the Witte wind deflectors and the smokestack with Caledonian brim. This model embodies the operating condition of the 18 323 around the year 1966 and reflects Era III of the German Federal Railroad.
The Trix 25323 is equipped with a factory-installed digital decoder that makes a variety of sound and light functions possible. The controlled high-efficiency drive with flywheel mass in the boiler ensures even and powerful power transmission to the three powered axles. This locomotive is not only a feast for the eyes, but also technically at the highest level.
Another highlight is the standard smoke insert, which provides a speed-dependent, dynamic smoke output. Together with the digitally switchable driver's cab lighting, the running gear lighting and the firebox flickering, this creates a realistic driving experience that no model railway layout should be without. The lighting is supported by maintenance-free, warm white LEDs that give the locomotive an authentic appearance.
The Trix 25323 steam locomotive has an especially finely detailed metal construction that is characterized by a large number of applied details. The fine reproduction of the locomotive, which is accompanied by the 2'2 T29.6 coal tender, ensures maximum prototypical fidelity. The model has buffers in accordance with the NEM standard and a kinematics-guided close coupling between the locomotive and tender, which ensures safe and prototypical operation.
For special applications on larger radii or in the display case, the model comes with interchangeable, closer-fitting access steps underneath the driver's cab. Piston rod protection tubes, heating and brake hoses are also included to further increase the level of detail.
The Trix 25323 is designed for operation in direct current (DC) systems and can be easily integrated into existing model railroad layouts. With a length over buffers of 27.2 cm, it is ideal for H0 layouts and is perfect for use on routes with a minimum radius of 360 mm. Thanks to its detailed design and extensive functions, this locomotive is suitable both for use on the layout and as a collector's item in the display case.
The Trix 25323 class 18 323 steam locomotive is a masterpiece that combines technology, aesthetics and historical accuracy. With its extensive sound and light functions, the dynamic use of smoke and the filigree design, this locomotive is an absolute highlight on any model railroad layout. Whether as a collector's item or in active operation - the class 18 323 will inspire you with its performance and attention to detail.
